Pool Design & Build
Pool Design & Build · Hardscapes · Waterscapes

Custom gunite pools, designed and built by one hand, in the heart of the Smokies.

Before we break ground

See the whole build before it exists.

A pool and the ground around it is a six-figure decision, and concrete is an expensive place to change your mind. Where owners want that certainty, we model the property first — pool, spa, fire features, decking, planting — and walk it with them on screen, where changes cost nothing. Here is one for a private Smoky Mountain estate, and the same property built.

The 3D walkthrough is an optional upgrade — not every build gets one.

3D rendering by Cline Outdoor Living Design, TNC's design-visualization partner. Built by Teaster's Natural Creations. Renderings are artistic conception.

Teaster's Natural Creations designs and builds the hard structure of a luxury property — hardscapes, waterscapes, and gunite pools — for private estates, luxury resorts, and boutique mountain getaways across East Tennessee. Built with creative precision, environmental harmony, and an unmatched understanding of mountain terrain.

Hardscape & Gathering Spaces

Custom firepits, stone patios, outdoor kitchens, and walkways — designed to impress and built to endure.

Gunite Pools & Waterscapes

Custom gunite pools and spas, natural waterfalls, streams, and fountains — engineered and built into the mountain landscape from the ground up.

Stone, Grading & Structure

Travertine and natural stone, retaining walls, and site grading — the enduring structure a luxury property is built on.

Design → Build, One Hand

The team that designs the ground is the team that builds it — one accountable hand from first drawing to final stone.

What you are hiring

A pool builder that has been pouring shells here since 1992.

A custom pool is a six-figure structure that has to survive freeze-thaw winters, clay that swells, and lots that fall away at thirty degrees. These are the things a buyer should check before the first drawing.

Building since
1992
Thirty-plus years of pools, stone, and water in East Tennessee, under the same family name.
Before ground breaks
3D
A walkthrough render of the pool and everything around it, revised on screen until it is right.
Contract
1
The team that draws the pool builds the pool. Nothing falls between an architect and a builder.
Shell
Gunite
Shotcrete shells shaped to the site, with spas, grottos, jump rocks, and waterfalls poured as one structure.

Where we work

Pools built from Maryville to Gatlinburg, and out to the lake.

Blount County is home. Sevier County is where most of the cabin and resort pools go in, on lots that would send a flat-ground builder home. Knoxville and the Tellico Lake communities round out the season.

MaryvilleBlount Co.
home base — the shop is on the parkway, so site visits are easy to schedule
TownsendBlount Co.
the quiet side of the Smokies; cabins and river properties
SeviervilleSevier Co.
the largest concentration of rental cabins with pools in the region

hospitality properties and indoor-pool cabins on tight turnover schedules
GatlinburgSevier Co.
steep lots, long driveways, and pools that sit a long way from the road
Wears ValleySevier Co.
newer cabin enclaves and view lots
KnoxvilleKnox Co.
flatter ground, city permitting, and a different build than the mountain work
By county
  • Blount County
    Maryville, Alcoa, Townsend, Walland, Louisville
  • Sevier County
Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Wears Valley, Kodak
  • Knox County
    Knoxville, Farragut, Karns, Hardin Valley
  • Lenoir City, Loudon, Tellico Village and the Tellico Lake communities
  • Vonore, Madisonville, Sweetwater, Tellico Plains

If your lot is farther out, ask. Access and slope decide the answer more than the drive does.

★★★★★
“Teasters creation designed a beautiful, one of a kind, backyard oasis. We needed a retaining wall in our new build. Teasters gave us a rock boulder retaining wall, which then curves into a grotto with a jumping rock over our custom pool.”

Questions

Common questions

How much does a gunite pool cost in East Tennessee?
It depends on the size of the pool and what surrounds it — decking, coping, fencing, heating, salt, automation, and site work all move the number. Our free pool estimator turns your dimensions and selections into a planning range in a few minutes. A firm price needs a site visit, an engineering review, and a written proposal.
What is the difference between a gunite pool and a liner pool?
A gunite pool is sprayed concrete over steel, so it can be built to any shape, depth, or feature set, then finished with tile, coping, and plaster. A liner pool uses a manufactured shape with a vinyl liner, comes in set sizes, and costs less. Gunite suits custom shapes, tanning ledges, beach entries, and integrated spas. Liner suits standard sizes on a tighter budget.
Can I see a 3D rendering of my pool before construction starts?
Yes, as an optional upgrade. We model the whole property first — pool, spa, fire features, decking, and planting — so the design is settled on screen instead of in concrete. Not every build includes one; it is added at the owner’s request.
How long does it take to build a custom pool?
Schedule depends on design approval, permitting, site conditions, and weather. Mountain terrain adds excavation and access variables that a flat lot does not have, which is why we walk the property and review grading, utilities, rock, and haul-off before committing to a date.
Do you handle the whole project, or just the pool?
The whole project. The team that designs the ground is the team that builds it — pool, waterscapes, hardscape, stone, grading, and planting under one contract, so there is one accountable line from first drawing to final stone.
Do you build custom pools in Maryville and Blount County?
Yes. Maryville is home base, so Blount County pools get the shortest drive and the easiest site visits we offer. We build gunite pools and spas, with the hardscape, waterfalls, and grottos poured as part of the same structure, across Maryville, Townsend, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Wears Valley, and Knoxville, and across Blount, Sevier, Knox, Loudon, and Monroe counties.
Who designs the pool, and who builds it?
The same team. We draw the pool and the ground around it, model it in 3D so you can walk through it on screen, then build from the approved drawings under one contract. There is no hand-off from a designer to a builder, which is where most pool projects lose money and time.
